The KymiRing international racing season began on Saturday with the RallyX series in sunny weather. The qualifying rounds for the race were held on Saturday and the finals are scheduled for Sunday.
The first day of the race saw many successes for the Finns, such as Anton Seppä and Joni Turpeinen taking the double lead in their own class.
Over 70 cars have arrived at KymiRing to compete in five different classes. Almost 20 of the drivers will participate in the top class of the Open 4WD series. There are also over 20 CrossCars.
In addition to the exciting races, the day offered the public a chance to get to know the cars, a fan zone and a variety of other entertainment, such as music, interesting food and drink options and a children’s zone.

KymiRing also hosts two other major international competitions in the summer. The motocross series world championship FIM MXGP World Championship is scheduled for July and the rallycross world championship FIA World Rallycross Championship is scheduled for August. In addition, the track hosts numerous domestic events.
KymiRing organizes the events in close cooperation with AKK Motorsport and the Finnish Motorcycling Association. Important partners also include the City of Kouvola, the Visit Lahti tourism organization, and the Municipality of Iitti.
