A circuit built for the future. A story still being written.
KymiRing’s story is one of ambition, resilience, and an unwavering belief that Finland deserves a world-class motorsport venue. The circuit was built from the ground up in Southeast Finland — a project driven by a vision to bring international-level motorsport back to Finland and to create something that would last for generations.
From vision to reality
The idea behind KymiRing was simple: Finland, a country with one of the strongest motorsport traditions in the world. Home to Formula 1 World Champions, rally legends, and decades of passionate driving culture — needed a modern, purpose-built GP circuit worthy of that heritage.
Work on KymiRing began with that goal firmly in focus. The site in Iitti, southern Finland, was chosen for its location: central enough to serve the greater Helsinki region and southern Finland, but far enough from the city to offer the space a world-class motorsport complex requires.
The result is a 4.5-kilometre GP circuit with 21 corners, a 1.1-kilometre main straight, the longest in Europe and a full complement of FIA Grade 2-standard infrastructure. Alongside the GP circuit, KymiRing also houses an FIM-licensed MXGP motocross track, a rallycross circuit with an FIA World Rallycross Championship licence, and extensive off-road areas making it one of the most versatile motorsport venues in Northern Europe.
A venue with layers
A venue with layers
KymiRing was never designed to be just a racing circuit. From the beginning, the plan was to build something larger: a 170-hectare mixed-use venue where motorsport events, corporate experiences, community activities, and long-term development could all coexist.
The main building alone reflects this ambition with a 700 m² event hall, a 120 m² lounge, meeting rooms, race control, media facilities, and 36 individually serviced pit boxes.
The circuit has hosted international events, national championships, and thousands of track day participants. And through each chapter of its story, including the challenges that came with building something of this scale — KymiRing has continued to develop.
The road ahead
Today, KymiRing operates as Finland’s most modern motorsport circuit and a growing multi-use destination. The 2026 season is the most active yet with a full calendar of track days, driving experiences, off-road events and corporate programmes running April through October.
The long-term vision remains: to make KymiRing Northern Europe’s most trusted motorsport destination. A venue where enthusiasm meets infrastructure, and where everyone from a first-time driver to an international racing team can find their place on track.
